So to understand this you gotta have some backstory on my mom.
She's been a nurse for about 14 years, and at the hospital she's in currently for 7 years. She's pretty goddamn competent from what I've heard from her friends and what I've seen from when I visit at her work. Now, when the charge nurse of her unit got kidney failure or something and had to take a lengthy leave of absence, my mom filled in for her, essentially graduating to running an entire floor. From all I've heard, she's pretty good at it. It was only a layover though, and apparently the manager one step above her is one of those people who seem to disrupt the system wherever they go and try to bully those underneath them - most people know the type. My mom went into the interview to get the job permanently, and because the manager was a bitch or something to that extent, got passed over for essentially a graduate student. Now, the WTF part is this: once word of this got to the doctors, they flipped their shit. Literally every surgeon and anaesthesiologist in the hospital started raging at the decision (apparently one of them literally threw a clipboard across the room and started impersonating that 'no' guy from the Office), wrote up a rage letter, and are basically throwing all their influence behind a motion to get my mom the job.
It's rather shocking how well-liked my mom is.
