I used to have chickens, actually. They were really, really violent when cornered and were resourceful enough to constantly escape the pen (meaning I'd have to chase and corner them to get them back in). They liked to lay their eggs in hidey-places in the grass - meaning that if we didn't find them soon, they'd go rotten and eventually get stepped on.
The chickens were pretty tasty by the end of it, though.
