More like a WTF about language. Why are homosexual women called lesbians and homosexual men called gays? Just call them homosexuals. More universal, and easier to remember.

Hopefully not true answer: because lesbian porn and gay porn have different target audiences, and target audiences are all that matters nowadays.

Primarily because gay men didn't have a famous classical poet that could be used as a subtle reference to male homosexuality in the way that Sappho (the origin of the popular adjective "sapphic") of Lesbos provided for the female version. Thus, they had to get by with code phrases such as "confirmed bachelor" or "gay" that could be used by those "in the know" but wouldn't tip off the rest of the world.

Now, they aren't all that bad and I like to imagine you are not that bad either. I've just dealt with some bad shit with addicted clients. Also I won't preach the whole "clean up your life" crap, because I'm not into preaching that (as it doesn't work anyhow). In any case, I don't mean for it to be a reflection upon you. It's just an awkward thing about looking at it from the other side of the coin.

From what I remember of you Hans, you seem decent, which that other jerk was not. Suffice it to say, it wasn't meant to be you, obviously, as I don't imagine you've done any of the things on that list.

Apparently there's some armed fugitive holed up in a building in the Adelaide CBD, with a bunch of hostages.
This isn't really the WTF though, it's more the hilariously bad, slapped-together news article I read on the subject- complete with a very dodgy, poorly-edited news video of a police press conference, with some policedude mumbling incoherently on the topic. :P

I guess this is what happens when breaking news breaks before the news companies have had their first few coffees of the day.

So about the one positive of my brother's death was that I had to call my half-family up and tell them that it happened.  Long story short, my father is ineffective at life, so they left to another state.  They never call me and never got into facebook, so when we all changed phones we all stopped talking.

My sister was 9 when this happened.  She is 15 now.  I gave her a call the other day; the first time I'd be talking to her since she left, and I got this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8Twi7DW9uA

and she didn't pick up.  Despite me texting her and making sure I was calling her when she was free.  I bloody asked her what time I should call.  And then when I called her later she said she was late @ school.  :|  Considering her state has summer vacation for two months, the only way she would be in school is either summer school because she failed something or an alternative/magnet school.  I'm not calling my sister dumb, but she was never a shining star, so now I've ended up with more questions than I had a month ago.

Well, yeah. You only really interact with the druggies who are needing a lawyer, right? That's gotta be SOME CRAZY selection bias right there.

Friggin' hilarious WTF:
Quote from: Robert Pattinson, the actor playing Edward in Twilight
When you read the [Twilight series], it’s like saying 'Edward Cullen is so beautiful I creamed myself.' I mean every line is like that. He’s the most ridiculous person who’s so amazing at everything. I think a lot of actors tried to play that aspect. I just couldn't do it. And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that’s how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he’s a 108 year-old virgin, so there’s clearly some issues there.

Robert Pattinson despised twilight (and Stephanie Meyer, too.)

From what I understand, Paramount was going to make the movie halfway decent, but Meyer got butthurt and threatened to pull the plug.
