Living in a part of the world where there are castles fucking everywhere, as in the greatest density of them per square mile than anywhere else in the world more or less (which says a lot about our history), the novelty of big stone fortresses has kinda worn off.

So there's a list of sentences describing various unusual objects in my psychology textbook, they're supposed to be things you'd know about, but not commonly use the words for in day to day life. These sentences include "A Chinese single masted sailing ship." or, "An object in which a sword was carried."
These sentences are supposed to produce that tip of the tongue feeling where you know something but you're struggling to remember the word for it.

The effort completely fell flat for me, I recognised every single object and recalled the word almost immediately afterward.

However I just spent a good 20-30 seconds trying to remember the word for the cushioney thing on legs that I sit on.

Even speaking English, I do that. It's far easier to recall 'Bistahieversor' or 'Lythronax' than 'dishwasher' or 'elbow'.

Browsing vintage games on Ebay (more out of idle curiosity than a desire to buy, as there's few "I-must-have-this" titles that are in my budget, and outside of those I don't like buying online because it takes away the thrill of finding a gem in a pawn shop, used media store, middle of the street, etc), and it is clear that price speculation has hit the market pretty hard. There's people asking $400+ for bundled lots of shitty sports games, none of which are rare, and which I could obtain for under five bucks at a local shop.

I'm genuinely surprised you found something worse than the local sell-and-trade stores, Shonus. Those places are nastier with money than Gamestop has ever dreamed of being.

So as a un-nolveltic observer, how would you side in this castle vs small NYC apartment debate?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

EDIT: it's feeling like everyone here is, right now, a little on edge. People seem a bit snappier with others today.
Could be the politics threads - they appear to be leaking into the rest of the forums. Ready the scuba gear, I'm going in!

Not around here. The three local chains are damn near perfect except for their inability to keep anything in stock. Whenever they actually have something, they're 15-20% cheaper than Ebaying (even before shipping), and they give acceptable cash in exchange. (Generally, about 25% of what they're going to price the item for, with a few extra percent if you're willing to accept store credit.) Except for NES Zappers. They price those damn things like they're made of gold or something.
