Point being that the program is naturally going to accuse most of the students of cheating when they reach the exact same answer independently. Because it's an excel assignment, and there's only so many ways to do those if you're not intentionally screwing around (NOT(NOT(NOT(NOT(...)))) etc.). A plagiarism checking program for an assignment where most of the students should have an identical answer is going to vomit false positives all over the students' grades.

It doesn't matter if you read it all. You won't understand it, you won't see the six hundred ways it screws you, and that's not to mention the hidden pages and the invisible ink in the margins. Did you notice there's microscript in every letter? This is one you just turn to Page 1000 and sign.

What I meant was that even if there is anti-cheating software meant to catch solving programs, it is very likely that the people not using the solving programs are going to end up employing the same solution pathways as the solving programs, as there are only so many efficient ways to solve a problem.

Anyway, I've definitely picked up some cold resistance from living in the mountains. It was 32 degrees today, the warmest it's been in a few weeks, and it felt like what I usually associate with 50's. It's actually going to be in the 50's a few days from now, so that should be interesting. Everyone I know back home seems like such a temperature weakling now.

Don't you just turn in the XLS file? I think they're mostly concerned with people just copying the XLS. If it's one of those things where you have to follow certain steps in a simulated Excel program, I feel for you. Generally those emulators suck.

You download a .Zip that contains a half-finished worksheet where you have to fill in the rest, and a word doc that gives you instructions on how to do it. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to do, then you upload it back to the site and it will be graded after a moment or two.

There is a simulated excel program we have to use for non-test work though, and it's terrible.
