What is Scotland but an additional Nordic country? Everyone will be much happier when you admit your northern heart, and then we can all be just Nordic instead. Truly the Scandinavian master race will rise once more.
Actually that's exactly what we say, but it's more like we're both a Nordic country and a Celtic country. We're both. Even our Vikings that settled here spoke Celtic languages. But yes our government wants us to join the Nordic Council as soon as we break free from our shackles.
I always say Scotland is a Nordic country. We have people among us who are truly living Vikings (i.e. they are direct descendants of Viking warlords). The entirety of Clan MacLeod is an example which used to be Mac Ljotr or something, or MacAuley which was "Mac Olaf" in days gone by, or MacSween which was Mac Sven, MacIver was Mac Ivar, Mac Askill was Mac Asketill, MacCotter was Mac Ottar, McKittrick was Mac Sigtrygg. In the Gaelic speaking lands, the name "Ronald" is actually "Raghnall". We have Viking words, we have old Norse accents. We are truly a Nordic land, but we are also West Germanic. We are also Celtic. We are many things. We are British (even I do not doubt that), we are European. We can be anything we want. Except Arab perhaps, unfortunately.
I've shown this before but this is just to prove our Nordic credentials
here. This man's ancestors were speakers of an indigenous Nordic language to Scotland until a few hundred years ago, the ghost of that language (Norn) still influences his English/Scots dialect.
