I have both Hitman Blood Money and Absolution on Steam (I had a non-Steam copy of the former, but since it was away and the whole series was on sale I bought it - that's going to be relevant).

I finished the entirety of Absolution and fiddled around a bit with the achievements.

I got to the penultimate level of Blood Money, but didn't finish it (on the Steam copy, mind you).

Today, I checked the time spent on both.

Absolution: 18 hours
Blood Money: 42 hours. Plus the time I spent on it on non-Steam copies.

So yeah.

No, no, no, why would you use your fingers like a barbarian? Wrap it in a tissue and stamp on it with great force, or hit it with a hard-backed book. Drowning it is slow and horrible, popping it with your fingers is agonizing, dirty and generally inconceivable. A quick strike would end it all.
Oh. I just always use my fingers, because tweezers are liable to spear the suckers. With my fingers, I can apply the right amount of pressure to pull them out without making them barf or tear the skin.
And then I drop them immediately into the toilet, because ew it's gross why would I want to see tick guts?

Drowning it is slow and painless, popping it poses the risk of infecting yourself with whatever was in it.

Late to the party, and lacking a communism pun, but:
I only read the first few pages of this thread, so this might have been mentioned before. Still:
Rousseau (AFAIK) said that most animals have something that makes them especially apt to live where they live. This something could be shells, wings, gills etc.
Humans on the other hand are remarkably fragile: We do not have great strength, speed, or resistance to the environment, and our senses, well, suck. The only thing that is special about humans is our capacity to adapt to various environments and shape the surroundings to our advantage. Humans do not fit their environment, they fit the environment to themselves. This - if we're going to go with the race "clichées" (which is - in my opinion - perfecttly reasonable) could be reflected in the game as well If elves are the hippies and dwarves the smiths, humans should be the farmers and cattle-raisers, mechanics and inventors.
Subdue the earth!
I'd have thought it would be worse... though I detect a spelling mistake, unfixed for twenty-two and a half months. Live and let live...

Actually, what you're saying in that is not exactly true. Humans are supremely adapted for heat and long distance travel. We actually are rather dangerous via blunt force trauma applied with our fists, though this seems much less impressive when ninety percent of animals can kick you in half or bite through your torso with ease. Most aboriginal tribes practiced endurance hunting, where they just walked at a prey animal until it died of exhaustion. Because we can do that. Walk and walk and walk and walk and walk. Go ahead gazelle. Keep running. We'll walk. And walk. And walk. And motherfucking walk some more. And of course, we're smarter in a general way than pretty much every other animal on earth. I say general way because animals are still really fucking clever in their own ways.

... That said, I'm responding to a post you made nearly two years ago.

Actually drowning is regarded as very painful indeed, I am sure. At least it is for humans. Whether or not the tick would feel it I don't know.

I once managed to remove all of a tick but its head, which remained firmly attached to my skin.

That is very bad. That can cause infections, little bastards. I've also heard that if you burn them and they drop off, they vomit the clotted blood they'd been drinking back into you with their tick juices.

Very true. That's actually why I use my fingers. What you gotta do is grab them by the head, not by the body. Never try to yank a tick out by pulling/squeezing the body. If the body pops, their juices go into the bloodstream of their victims. Never burn or puncture ticks that are attached.
Ever.

Nah, if you've ever drowned or had a near-drowning incident it's not the drowning that hurts, it's the getting out of the water that does. After the ordeal your body just feels compelled to remind you you've swallowed water and needs to choke it out. I wonder what ticks feel, they breathe through their skin after all.

Not 100% sure on whats going one...
But anyone know what is going on with this???

http://indiestatik.com/2013/10/20/day-one-garrys-incident/
http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/e4Ta7/day-one-garrys-incident-devs-pull-out-tbs-negative-video-due-to-copyright-infringement
http://n4g.com/news/1376972/garrys-incident-video-by-total-biscuit-removed-because-dev-dislikes-critique

Seems pretty straightforward. There was a game called Garry's Incident, and it was put on Steam. From what I've seen, it turned out to be a bad game.

The game was reviewed by TBS and the devs flipped out at the bad review, and had the video taken down on a copyright violation.

Though lots of other videos of the game are still up, strangely.

I wasn't exactly trying to get that result. The bastard was too small and I couldn't get a good grip on him. Strong too.

Smother the little buggers in Vaseline. Blocks their spiracles and suffocates them, so they pop their heads out to breath, and just drop off.
