I'd still have XP if it were possible. They struck gold with XP...

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Man, your reaction if you're ever forced to deal with 8 is going to be hilarious to watch.
I've toyed with it in the stores. Appallingly hideous interface, but it's supposed to be excellent under the hood. Supposedly, they're about to make major changes to the interface.

I agree with you. Every time I mention it to my apple-based girlfriend, she rolls her eyes at me.

I, for one, like having the option of cascading all 50 of my windows. I think she prefers 7, if any of them, because it's newer and because it look more like apple.

XP was the shit.

On Youtube:

What? All I searched was "Slamtris".

http://arstechnica.com/business/2013/05/confidential-content-youtube-bug-shows-scary-but-harmless-banner-in-search-results/

Slamtris? Google clearly wants to stop all Slams and Jams, lest we suffer another B-Ballnacht.

But seriously, the fuck does that banner even mean? "Experiment"? "Confidential Content"? "Please do not share outside Google"?

Is the experiment in seeing how many people talk about the banner around the net? How people react to menacing red bars on top of their screen that suggests ideas of censorship or hidden information or something? And why the rapid prepared responses by Google to people who ask saying "Nothing to see here, folks. Ignore it. It'll be fixed soon!" without any explanation?

Freaking weird.

They were probably hoping that nobody would say anything about it, and then they could claim that it was an experiment to show how people trust authority over their own safety or some other bull like that.

That is anathema to the existence of Google. I saw it as some quick thing to silence Privacy concern Critics.

I am, however, desperately hoping it signals the start of the Google Domination plan.

EDIT: I just heard a brilliant explanation. It's simple, it's used by internal Google employees when watching things Google hasn't revealed.

Windows? I 8 mine.

In all seriousness, Windows 8 with the classic shell is pretty good. Apart from the tendency to rarely start up and not boot to desktop, but to that stupid app screen.

I see no reason to move past Win7, I need no app screen. Microsoft clearly was working at the end of the Bnaltz when they thought combing the two forcefully was a great idea.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Internet connection was slogging badly, having a download speed (according to speedtest.net) of about 0.38mbps. We reset the router.

Internet is now positively blazing at 4.63mbps. Apparently that simple troubleshooting method can work wonders on occasion :P

I'm completely baffled by the results so far in the IIHF WC. Switzerland is on a victory roll, France beat Russia...
Did I miss a buff/nerf balance pass?

Calling it now; final game will be France-Switzerland, with, uhh, Latvia going for bronze. And it will be some of the best hockey anyone's seen in years.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Actually, you just need the lemons to make lemonade. Then just stick the glass outside and have a nice, cold, shattered glass of lemonade.

White house petitions has a statistically anomalous number of petitions relating to China, including everything from declaring property of Chinese official's children to a invasion of China to remembrance of Tienanmen Square to what appears to be multiple Chinese spam-bots. Including some entirely written in Chinese.
