Was doing course searching online, getting registration and whatnot for the summer semester started and...

Researchers already get grants to fund their work, because it stands to benefit everyone. Once done, they don't need to turn it into an indefinite cash-farm that generates royalty money any time someone tries to cure a genetic condition in a child...
