If I could find the "stupidest thing you heard today" I'd put it there but frankly this is annoying. Why do people just assume that EA is losing ANY shred of cash?

Having your reputation hurt does hurt a companies profits in the long run. The effect can be non-existant in the short run, and can be very hard to measure for any individual product, but eventually having a ruined reputation costs quite a bit.
Its important to note that the effects aren't just (or even mainly) in sales, but also in things like game companies trying to avoid having EA publish their game, or having their Origin thing flop completely partially because no one really trusts them to not have it be completely crappy.

Yea... Blizzard is dead to me, and so is everything that requires EA Origin. I might even boycott all EA games, but I have not made that decision yet as they produce some un-broken games on consoles.
