Ehh the Dark side is quite a bit worse.

If it wasn't for the fact that it is likely that hte Dark Side of the force is actually a corrupting influence (and that is up for debate) then they would make absolutely sense.

They make perfect sense. First you read some teenager's interpretation of the cliff notes to Also Sprach Zarathustra. Then you backstab everyone you possibly can. Then you turn into an amoral murderbeast. Then, Ultimate Power!!

The bigger question I had is why you'd ever want to take on a Sith Apprentice.  Considering you're teaching them to backstab anyone and everyone.  And you probably became a Master by backstabbing your own.  Maybe you're just hoping that this time you'll get it right and somehow not be betrayed?

Sith masters are lazy and need somebody else to do the dirty jobs for them.

I always figured the force is basically the consciousness of every living being that ever lived or will live shunted to a frame beyond time.

It explains also why Force practitioners who arn't Jedi use the force in ways even the Jedi don't/can't.

It is simple. The Sith Master is never supposed to teach his Apprentice everything and thus the Apprentice is never expected to actually succeed.

Thus if the Apprentise actually beats the Master then he proven he is even greater then his master and not simply using his master's teachings against him.

Think of it like a Karate Teacher who stops teaching you Karate after your halfway up the belts...

Apprentices do a lot of work for you as well as the need to pass on some of your knowledge to others.

I mean look at Dark Lord... He barely did anything in the original trilogy. He made Vader do all the work.

It is the same reason why Blacksmiths have apprentices. Child Labour.

On the other hand, as a blacksmith you aren't teaching your apprentice how best to betray and kill you when they're older.
