And I really never understood why people are into the CIA controlling the country. It isn't even allowed in the country. the FBI could be runningn he whole country, and pinning it off on the CIA.
Time to switch philosophies then.

Whilst that's true in theory ... in fact the CIA has been caught doing a lot of nasty stuff in the USA against their own citizens, e.g:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_CHAOS

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Howard_Hunt (CIA Agent jailed over Watergate affair)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unethical_human_experimentation_in_the_United_States#Psychological_and_torture_experiments
Quote
<revolting experiment details omitted>
In 1963, CIA had synthesized many of the findings from its psychological research into what became known as the KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation handbook,[133] which cited the MKULTRA studies and other secret research programs as the scientific basis for their interrogation methods.[...]Latin American paramilitary groups working for the CIA and U.S. military received training in these psychological techniques at places like the School of the Americas, and even today, many of the torture techniques developed in the MKULTRA studies and other programs are being used at U.S. military and CIA prisons such as Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. In the aftermath of the Congressional hearings, major news media mainly focused on sensationalistic stories related to LSD, "mind-control", and "brainwashing", and rarely used the word "torture". This propagated the image that CIA researchers were, as one author put it "a bunch of bumbling sci-fi buffoons", rather than a rational group of men who had run torture laboratories and medical experiments in major U.S. universities, and who had tortured, raped, and psychologically abused young children, driving many of them permanently insane.

Yeah... There's a reason the CIA is in my 'best-not-to-think-about-this' list.

Say what you will of the British Empire, but they certainly knew how to build imposing warships.

A secondary function was to act as a high speed, long range transport (which in fact was their only actual use during war).

Are you implying that the empire was only good at building warships?
They were also in charge of what was probably the largest international drug trade ever. That's pretty impressive.

Really, it was all pretty impressive. Until world wars happened and then suddenly everywhere decided to leave.

I that found my stepdad still has his habit of pouring his breakfast into the toilet(er... before eating it). This moring, I find an entire egg yolk in the toilet, as if he cracked open an egg right over the toilet for the sole purpose of wasting said egg.

And he also blames the fact that it's a pain in the ass(so... so to speak...) to flush the toilet, a process that involves dumping a bucket of water into it and hoping it works, on either me or my mom based on us actually using toilet paper.

The proper way to build Warhammer sets.
That poor table. That poor, poor table. What did that table ever do to that guy to deserve such treatment?
Sweden declared war on IKEA. The rest is history.

No no. We were buying the tea from China, and then shipping our Indian opium to them in order to ease the trade imbalance a bit.

Mysterious purple balls found in desert.

Gerardine Vargas was taking pictures in the desert, when she stumbled upon something strange; an isolated pile of thousands of tiny purple tinted spheres. They're wet, weird and nobody knows exactly what they are. But that didn't stop the local news team from going totally bananas. Cover your eyes, people. This video shows stuff getting poked with sticks.

Junji Ito, anyone?

Junji Ito?

What the fuck is wrong with that newscaster? He's far more bizarre than a bunch of gooey purple balls in the desert.
