Memory was trying to tell me there was an equivalent word for males as mistress is to females, put google seems to be saying otherwise, or at least if there is then it's so obscure Wikipedia doesn't know it. I'm guessing I came across something in sci-fi literature or whatever.

Kind of disappointing. It's... y'know, asymmetrical, inequitable. Offends my sense of linguistic aesthetics, and not in a good way. Wouldn't mind seeing a specific word for a male mistress. Anyone know of any languages that has a word for it we can steal?

Well, I believe that "minion" and "gunsel" were originally used in that context, though mostly in a homosexual sense. There's also "consort" which can imply marriage, but doesn't always.

I noticed that one, actually, but it doesn't quite roll off the tongue right for a loan word our language would steal. Maybe bastardize it somehow to make it fit better?

Gunsel's kinda' interesting. It'd fit fairly well, insofar as pronunciation goes. Consort... isn't that fairly gender neutral? And has another meaning besides kept <gender>?

Today, I saw a National Geographic documentary called "the Human Footprint"
They said some ridiculous 'Averages' for the amount of certain products. But when they got to showers/Baths an average American takes throughout their life, they used rubber ducks to represent them. They filled a entire house, street, and sidewalk through a park. The fact that they all were perfectly aligned made me question why they'd waste that much time aligning them. I then went the rest of the school day occasionally saying"The DUCKS!" Out loud at random times.

Tl;DR, I have been inflicted major mental scarring by rubber ducks.
