I just got a notice in the mail today dated 10 days ago, that my house has a lead water service line.
It is from my water company. It says they can replace their part of the service line if I replace mine.
God damn it what? Nobody told me this for how many years? Thankfully I have a Brita Filter that says it removes 99% of lead.
Still why? Who the hell put in a lead service pipe way back when? Why the hell? Just why the hell? Did someone save $20 (probably $200 in today's money)?
So I just got this letter and I can't call a plumber until Monday. Until I get this fixed, I'm drinking bottled water.
It's probably going to cost me a nice amount of money of who knows probably $1000 to $2000 I'm guessing? I don't know.
I'm also guessing I can't get the water department to pay for my costs, but it does say they have to replace their part of it.
I was focusing on my health and trying to get as good as it can get given all the other crap wrong with me.
Great, just great. If the EPA didn't force the water company to say anything, then they wouldn't have.
Just add another thing probably wrong with me that I wasn't prepared for at all.
Drink more water.... It's healthier and better than alcohol or soda pop....
God damn lead! I just can't win. Hurray society is just trying to poison me more.
Edit: O look. Here's why I'm getting a notice probably
