Of course, they have to not annoy you enough with said ad for you to not go to them on principle.
And yet, ads are continually optimized for annoyance. Whether animated on your web browser or a commercial acting as an obstacle to the content you actually want or superbowl ads being intentionally confusing and bizarre. There seems to be so much willingness to make something more annoying just for the sake of being mor noticeable.

There's been extensive research that suggests that annoyance doesn't hurt ads too much for most people. As long as it sticks in your head, you tend to have an association with that product, and any strong association has been shown to boost sales. That's where the expression "no such thing as bad publicity" came from.

For most people, maybe. But there are two brands that I will not buy from because their screamer ads were too annoying.

Went to my GI specialist today. I've got to do a combined oral endoscopy/colonoscopy next week.

I've also lost at least 20lbs in two weeks.

It's not, I've been eating less than 1000 calories a day for a few weeks.

The doctor did prescribe me something that should help with my eating problem, but the pharmacy hasn't gotten it yet. I really hope it works.

I don’t understand the iPhone weather app.

It says there will be precipitation next week, so I click the day to check how much.

The little thing above the graph says .15”.

The graph says 1”.

The thing below the graph says 1.75”.

Which is it, man?

I'm the same way, there are some thing I won't buy because of their damned ads.
While there are lots of different kinds of advertisement, and some are more insidious than others, I make it a general rule to not buy things which are advertised to me at all. The reasoning being that if they're spending money on advertisement, that's money they could have spent on improving the product which was instead spent on trying to promote it over other products which spent less on marketing and more on development. So if I select specifically for unadvertised products, I get higher quality while also pressuring companies to annoy me less.

I got seriously tailgated earlier today. Stupid enough, the guy must have left less than half a meter of distance at 70mph. Pulled into the left lane when I could to let them pass.

The serious WTF is that they did that only to then crawl past me at what must have been 72-73. What the fuck is up with that?

People not understanding the rules of the highway drives me absolutely crazy.

I was driving back from Indiana after Christmas on I80 and was in the left lane, and the traffic kept going from ~72 to 85. This went on for like 20 miles.

Finally I said fuck it and got in the right lane.......15 goddamn cars behind one person who just. Didn't. Ever. Get. Over. And everyone in Iowa is so stupidly polite, no one was willing to pass on the right. Everyone backed up in the left lane and no one was getting over, just expecting the person in front of them to "go faster."

So I passed them all on the right and mmmaaaaaaannnnnn did it feel good.

Some places have cops who are very angsty about passing on the right or conversely traveling in the passing lane.

A good way to get pulled over in PA for instance, is to travel in the passing lane.

Iowa is notorious for its cops. Partly why everyone drives so conservatively there.

The urge to play some DF is rising within me.  I like building a nice, safe base in a game that doesnt  try to intentional destabilize me for the sake of 'forcing a story'.

Havent played since the very first of the updates that added in buildings like libraries and temples.  Are friendly necromancers still raising hostiles zeds, and are zombie husk kings still common?

I never liked the idea of every other kingdom being run by a demon or zombie or lich, and I didnt like how strong they were as friendly units.  Dwarves are supposed to abhor crap like that, yeah?
