Cutting firewood with an axe is a great way to get that out of your system, too. And exhausting.

I've tried to split wood before but apparently wood is stronger that concrete because the solid concrete block I had to log sitting on shattered before the log would split. Gave up after that because it was the only thing solid enough to split the wood on.

Yeah, it's more elastic and absorbs the blows better than the concrete, especially green wood. It's best to put one round of wood on top of another, bigger one out on the lawn. Then you can smack it as much as you need without shattering your patio. And use a wedge and hammer it into the wood if it's too green to split with the axe alone.

That makes since, guess I need to find a big block of wood to use when I try that again, and I should probably try that splitting maul I got awhile back.

Just helped replace couple of outlets in a broken plaster wall. Normally the wall is made of thin plaster sheets on each side with mostly space in-between (and little insulation material) but its a very old house and apparently over the decades that space got filled so when I removed the outlet I had shit and the occasional rat bone spilling out of it.. looks like the walls are roughly filled with shit about waste high and whatever left it.. Not a pleasant thought.

Hopefully you were wearing a mask as that kind of nasty shit can really fuck you up if you breath in enough of it in.

I had the same thought half way through.. hopefully nothing major as I was done roughly an hour after that. Had similar fuck up when we decided to give our new house a new coat of paint and later I used a paint thinner for cleaning in poorly ventilated bathroom.. I got really high..

That what happens when you to poor to get professionals for such stuff.

An hour shouldn't be long enough exposure to hurt that bad, and I to am in the same boat when it comes to being unable to afford professionals also I find it easier to do things myself. I mainly mentioned it do to me cleaning a horrid mess once and having breathing problems for a few years because of it.

Hard to find a place with good pics of all the different stuff. If it is asbestos it's imperative you keep it wet to avoid dust flying away... If it isn't it still can't hurt to do it.

The good thing about asbestos is that it usually takes about 30 years before you develop lethal lung cancer. With some luck, 30 years from now, it's treatable.

I find it easier to do things myself.

Also quicker and cheaper. Been doing it since I was a kid, can trust a person who don't even have a wrench at home (even my retired mother have a basic toolset) especially now days when you online expert advice on how to do most stuff.

I doubt it, it is basic metal framing with plater sheets and insulation blanket and wiring in between. I am more concerned about something nasty from all the dropping or some sort of fungus.
