For me Firefox was significantly better than IE, but soon after lighterweight Chrome took over for every day use

now days I doubt that any average user can tell the difference between the browsers, delphonso suggestions might be best for maxing battery use

edit: fixed bold.

Aye. It's important to max use of batter on Sumatra.

They are pretty easy to distinguish. Firefox, updated against all reason, refuses to play any videos for longer than few minutes. Tor opens blocked sites, of which there are now many. Chrome works okay, but on it i'm not logged into anything and don't have any bookmarks.   :P Juggling three browsers is rather unfun. I wonder what's the deal with videos is.

Firefox plays videos for me just fine. Except sometimes the really long ones, it sometimes pauses those when not on active tab.

From what I've seen, the only people who complain about it taking up too much memory tend to have, like, eleventy gorillion tabs open at the same time. Honestly, browsers more permissive to such behaviour should be ashamed of themselves.

You folks are having problems with Firefox? Only gripe I ever had with it was when it retooled browser plugins years back and I lost one or two niche plugins that I don't miss. Hell, you get browser plugins in the android version.

Google can bite me.

Dont threaten google with a good invasion of privacy.  They might actually steal your data to sell to themselves using themselves as a broker

Fucking two days of on-and-off digging and I finally excavated an ingrown hair. About a centimeter long, and it utterly refused to come out until I forced it to. I basically had to create a cut and dig a needle in under the hair.

I had to switch to Chrome from Waterfox. The browser would just start shitting itself after a few hours. Even just having one or two youtube videos open in the browser would slow things down. I don't know if that fork of waterfox paused tabs when not active, but it sure didn't feel like it.

As much as I dislike Chrome and Google. I can actually do my job now instead of having my machine freeze up every 4 seconds.

Have used Firefox on my laptop for years now. Only issue I've ever run into was it being unable to open PDFs which doesn't exist at all anymore.
