Wait, no, that already happens all the time. I'll be honest, I'm still not quite sure why there's so much hype about this being "too dangerous to release". It's great at generating text, yes, but mimicking people in text is relatively easy already (it's a minor hobby of mine!). The reason deepfakes and so on are such an issue is that it's historically been incredibly difficult to convincingly mimic visuals. This doesn't bring anything new to the table other than the ability to rapidly generate multiple different riffs on the same idea, which... doesn't change much? I guess terrorist groups can generate individual manifestos for each member now?
