Dehaka streak finally ended some point after the 11th win. Ending the day on a far more reasonable something like 13 out of 18 won. Tried some stuff that wasn't dehaka, even. Lost, uh. All of them. But hey, progress.

A random Windows update has overtaken my computer. In the past hour, it has gone from 21% completion to 22%. Windows updates didn't used to take this long. What the fuck is Microsoft doing, reinstalling the whole OS every update now?

Dont have a choice, it's windows 10, there's no way to turn off automatic updates. I left it running while I helped move stuff inside downstairs and it must have decided to restart because I didn't press the button to postpone it.

It's okay, I can return to dwarf fortress sometime next week.

I recommend turning off updates for the 30 days or so they allow, and then restarting and re-enabling updates. I had a similar problem before

1) It's not like Greatorder or Toady knew it would break everything. I doubt they would have deleted a person's past if they knew. 2) Great Disorder is funnier.

Why do people dislike updates?

Because too many of the updates are royally fucked? Most issues I see reported are because of those updates that don't even fix the things they were released to fix.

I think updates are pretty good. You should be patient and wait until it updates. Maybe you shouls upgrade your internet connection?
