I mean, there was a very heated argument about the whole slavery thing. There was a whole war about it? That ended with a dude burning down almost every piece of antebellum architecture in the state? IIRC there's still some stuff u can find in, like, Macon and Helen, but there's not a whole lot going on. I think Yoink was probably referring to the fucking stunning skyline in atlanta.

I actually had a friend move up here from Florida last year, and his first night there we just drove around 85 for a while looking at the sights. ATL might be a sketchy place to hang out in at night but the view is worth it.

@Akura if you DM me what general area ur parents are moving to (i.e. piedmont/sowega/coastal/north ga etc) I could reccomend some cool places to visit. Personally, I tend to stay around atl and athens, but i'd probably visit Dahlonega/Savannah/Macon more often if I had the time or the money.

But yeah. In the US, cost of living is lower in GA compared to NY. (In many cases much!) Georgia also has no public transit to speak of, tho.

there's a couple amtrak lines around somewhere, and the big cities around here have bus lines (Atlanta has MARTA too). I wouldn't know much about CoL around the states, but it'll either be very cheap or just-ok-bordering-on-pricey the closer u get to urban areas.

Uhmmm, I don't know much about Atlanta's skyline, but Savannah springs to mind as one of the most awe-inspiring concentrations of purty buildings I've ever seen (albeit just in photos).
I've seen a bunch of pics from other cities and little towns around there as well that lead me to believe Savannah doesn't anywhere near hold the monopoly on beautiful Georgia (wait, when referring to the US state do you say 'Georgia' or 'Georgian'?) architecture.

Yeah, GGamer has a point with marta being in Atlanta. It's certainly better than nothing, just has limited reach outside I-285 (the interstate that circles the city). If you live west of Atlanta along I-20, there's a seperate bus line that can bring you into the metro area/marta network.

Re Yoink: I don't think Georgia has a specific style of architecture.  The purty houses in the countryside are usually plantation style houses, but I don't know what the name for Savannah's style is. They're a tad different in build type, I think.

I'm not saying it's a style specific to the state, just that it's pretty architecture in Georgia... although I'm sure there are actual names for some of the styles involved.
