IDK but that seems like over dramatizing it. Nobody is saying that the comic is some masterpiece, we're saying the frothing hate doesn't make any sense. It's an obscure comic, get over it. No need to insult the author, and that doesn't mean we're saying the comic is some shining example of 21st century story telling either. It's just some dude's amateur comic, and deserves neither excessive hate or love.

Going by the Wikipedia page, it is apparently in reference to a personal event that happened to the author during college.

That sort of road madness isn't such a thing in Ireland. You're supposed to thank other drivers for letting you past by doing a mini wave with whichever fingers can be stuck up from the steering wheel. You're also supposed to wave politely to people who let you cros the street. This happens enough for there to be waving rules, which goes to say a lot. There's a sort of... Communication between drivers that you get mentally used to.
I don't actually drive though, I take the train into town.

There are no cycling lanes. I have never seen anyone riding a bike in a town other than Dublin City, and the bike lanes there are few and far betwen, at least to my knowledge.

That is correct and there is a cycling lane from my house to my workplace.  I guesstimate thst I might cut time to work from 15-20 to 5-10 mins.  Bike would work as wrll but I find sitting in bikes painful

There are no cycling lanes in the part of Russia that I live in. We ride bikes on the pedestrian lanes. Some dodging of pedestrians is required.

So I was playing an mmo.  Somebody was advertising his guild in chat, a normal occurrence.  He did get a little religious in his pitch.   People started calling him out for it in chat and getting pretty harsh.  I was not sure he was trolling or not, and he claimed to be blocking people.  He did it in a douchey way by announcing people's account names when he blocked them.  Account names are different than character names but are not something too difficult to obtain ingame.

About an hour later on the same map he was hosting some fun little games for anyone to join in on.  And almost immediately people started calling him out on being a religious freak, and going to the location he was doing the games just to disrupt them and spam chat.  He was not spouting religion or advertising the guild when he started doing the event, only started quoting scripture and defending his beliefs when he started being called out, and the game was being disrupted.

While I was not participating in the event(I lacked a necessary ability) I was watching, and while I strongly dislike how he felt the need to announce who he was blocking, and I don't agree with his beliefs, it felt like a good thing he was doing organizing a fun little event.  And I really felt ashamed that I would more closely be associated with the people who were disrupting the game, than the host. I pointed out to them that they are making us all look bad and I was just countered with "Nobody who thinks the way he does has any business playing videogames."

WTF non-Christians, way to make us all look bad.
