I've been crying a lot over random things lately. I teared up while watching a documentary about influenza in History class. I got a bit too passionate about a scholarship essay and burst into tears while writing it. Heard a nostalgic song and bam, tears.
Why am I so vulnerable lately?
It can happen for a lot of reasons. Various forms of stress and fatigue, for instance, which might be grounds for easying up the pace, if you think that it might be that. It happens, I can certainly get rather misty eyes to some songs if I am in a particularly sentimental mood. If it is causing you distress, ease up and take stock of the situation.
... ... Sooo ... ...
I just had a fun chat with my 18 year old cousin, the evangelical catholic furry gal who draws surprisingly good nonsexual art for commission.
It is a rather amusing combination, indeed. It is not entirely unheard of, but nonetheless. One would be surprised.
I do find that the ordinary art is usually the better, come to think of it. In general, too, to some degree, not only in regards to furfriendery. There is a lot of pleasant art out there. Landscapes, portraits, sketches, doing art's work, and bringing a depiction and impression across. Naturally, prawns (that is well done) do that as well, but ordinary art is better at it, on the whole. A lot of the time, the pornographic art is predictable, and rather boring. Even if the artist is good; particularly if the artist is good, I will say, for it is a shame to see skill employed without imagination. Because it is so easily reduced to samey old dolls arranged in position, and so many time with no amusing background or context. It gets awfully like a factory production line. I suppose that is the disadvantage of having a near-unconditional point of appeal, as it were.
That ramble aside, I must say, if she is getting commission at only eighteen, then she is likely very good indeed.
I can't answer for the US or anything, but Civics in Finland is stuff like how taxes and inheritances work, how the government works and why, that kind of stuff, from what I vaguely remember from junior high.
I always roll my eyes when people complain that they weren't taught how to pay their taxes or other useful 'adult skills' - when you're that age, you will not care about the stuff, and will not retain it. I don't remember more than a few scattered facts of the whole thing.
I believe that was how it worked across the pond, as well, except hidden under the alias of 'societal orientation', what in goodness' name
that was supposed to mean. I do remember most of it, and it is not hard to fill in the gaps when reality (that damned bastard) comes knocking on my door. But I do not doubt for a second that it was a case of 'in through one ear, out of the other' for quite a few of people. They ought to have voluntary brush-up classes, I think. I could use a mathematics refresher...

Y-you're not American/European?!
I had always thought you were from there D: Because of how well you write and many other things!
Pssst, miss, Finland is in Europe.
