[sigh] Why do I bother with preventative advice? Nobody listens. I just should start on the solution for when they inevitably ignore my advice and I have to fix the screw up.
Understand that it's an evolutionary leftover where people tend to take the short term cost/benefit/risk/reward/whatever over the long-term one, even though the long term one is worse. Some proto-humans had to decide between two things, and the one who took the long term benefit got killed before it payed off, and the guy who took the short term benefit laughed at him and survived because of the immediate benefit.

Pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that only the first few mm of brain matter (the cortex) are responsible for the actual "thinking" (whatever that might be), and by the brain folding it exponentially increases the amount of material availiable to form the cortex.
Ahhh! NOW I understand!

I have literally spent the last two days doing nothing but playing Ace Combat 5 after replacing my old broken copy of it. One of my favorite childhoodish games (With Ace Combat 04 and Air Combat, the first game in the series, being two of my favorite actual childhood games).

Then I learned that my favorite childhood arcade game, Star Blade, was recently retconned by Namco to be a sequel to Ace Combat 3.

Yes, I understand that much.

What I DON'T understand, is how the folds in a creased brain make it much more advanced than a smoothed brain, more intelligent.

I know that it DOES, but that actual mechanics of it, I don't understand.
I recall reading something about this increasing the surface area so it bleeds off heat more so it can think harder. Might be bollocks.

Surface area does sound like a good start, though.

Indeed. If it's a heat-based mechanism, or the surface layers of neurons form the cortex, I can understand that.

Why is there a picture of Justin Bieber titled "Sexy and I know it" on my desktop?

I'm sorry but he is not sexy.

Current theories as to the perpetrator include ghosts and my brother. I'm guessing the former.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Nonsense, obviously you have the ghost of a fourteen year-old girl haunting your desktop.  I recommend WD-:000.

I'm realizing how big my state (Michigan) really is. The fact that I can drive to St. Louis from Detroit in almost as much time as it takes me to go from home to school (an in-state university) is mind-blowing.
