If you're talking about the Jim Sterling video, don't get exited. There's no legal legitimacy in claiming trademark violation over a video of something. The only way you could get even near that is if you made a channel named "Coca-Cola Official" and uploaded a bunch of videos of people chugging RC Cola while shouting racial slurs at passerby.

I assure you Youtube's lawyers will, if they are not already, laugh themselves to death when they see this.

Like, trademark is something qualitatively different than copyright. It doesn't work that way.

Ignoring that Jim Sterling is by far not the only person affected (there are more cases)...

Just like Copyright claims there is no legal legitimacy in those either most of the time.

Trademark strikes, the issue is, well three fold
-1) It is being claimed so long as the product being advertised is not their product. If someone advertises a knockoff... it can get a Trademark violation
--YES! this is a thing
-2) It has a VERY VERY small period where someone can make a counter claim except...
-3) The person who can accept the counter claim... is the person who made the claim.

Bad enough companies steal money from people (thus why the "Copyright Deadlock" is starting to become common practice now) with no ability to change that.

But Trademark claims allow companies to take down videos UNHINDERED!

Okay, yes, you're citing a video where the man is literally saying that he has no idea how the system works as a source.

Okay, the Playboy energy drink review is NOTHING like the Digital Homicide fiasco. Digital Homicide was a terrible game, but a legitimate one. Its review was legitimate. Jim was well in his rights. HOWEVER, the Playboy drink was not a legit product, and the Trademark holder is will within their rights to try and pull reviews of content that bears their name and likeness but is completely unrelated to their company.


Also, videos are terrible, terrible sources. Dear God it's painful to have to listen to someone talk at less than a fifth of my reading speed, let alone be unable to read back over and select quotes.
