To admit... because of how much I watch my friend play RimWorld... I am not only used to it without sound, I am mildly creeped out by what it has.

A blizzard is hitting my area right now. Got booted out of work an hour early, but parents didn't arrive until the time I would normally leave. Took nearly another hour driving home in full white-out conditions. Discovered that my 3DS has video recording, took about a minute of video of the drive.

Very few snowplows on the roads, it seems.

Boise has apparently declared a state of emergency. Seems they got quite a bit of snow, and are expecting it to melt and flood. The snake river valley is more a desert/very dry grassland, so they dont typically get much snow.

From like 1999-2005 I had to play Unreal and Half Life without sound, either to avoid waking family or getting caught in computer labs.  This is my excuse for sucking at competitive FPS...  I have a lot of trouble using in-game directional audio to my advantage.

Which is something I excel at in real life!  I can hear exactly where people are walking in the places I've lived in.
Sorta sucked when I lived in that frathouse, to be honest.  Even when I covered my ears in noise cancelling headphones and music, it was... creepy.  Like I was blindfolding myself.  Had to have my door in periphery vision, and sometimes (particularly at night) I'd learn things against it.  Just in case.

But, huh.  That might even be part of why I feel the need to listen to other things while I play games.  I got used to splitting my attention that way.  Nowadays it's mostly tv shows (most crime procedurals work surprisingly well audio-only).
I always make sure my door's locked and bolted, though.

and wtf!?
on the middle of the movie they are on a planet called JEDAAH or something like it the place is clearly an alusion to the middle west confront
it even has evil people on turbans!

what the hell??
why put something so racist on a sw movie?

Interesting.  I felt like the prequels were a lot worse about that.
Particularly with the borderline racial stereotypes, and the apparent War On Terror symbolism...  Course, that's just what I saw *at the time*.

You might want to refocus. Saw's partisans are more morally ambiguous compared to the Rebellion proper, but they definitely aren't more evil than the Empire. If anything it's an anti-American message, since the Empire exterminates them.

Hehe, I got so sick of my PC beeper-speaker I unplugged it from the motherboard.  Later, curious, I forced the "HD activity" LED onto the speaker pins.

The cable melted, but no other permanent damage was done.  Learning experience~

Wait, what? Is that like. A thing? I've never had a PC(that wasn't a laptop) that's had a beeping thing. Is it more common on older PCs? because if so, then i've obviously never experienced it

Yeah this was a hand-me-down and also a long time ago.  It had a giant red on-off switch, and I mean like 2 inches wide.  It made a very satisfying CLICK.  Also after a point I'm pretty sure the frame started building up a noticeable charge.  Possibly because our house didn't have ground leads?  IDK, I only dabbled in hardware

I'm not sure if the speaker even had different frequencies, it pretty much just beeped.  Was a long time ago though, maybe it had 8 or something.
