I looked up how cashews grow. The nuts grow off of a false fruit called a cashew apple. The nut is surrounded by a double shell that has a toxin like the stuff in poison ivy. That's pretty cool. It can also kill you!
Look up black cherries next. They are delicious, and yet deadly. So very deadly. They can kill livestock.

Okay, this computer is messed up. We had a power outage last night, and now it seems to think it's been set up to use two monitors. One with full resolution and 16-bit color, the other with low resolution and also what appears to be 16-bit color. The former being run off the nVidia card we installed a while ago, the other off integrated graphics. At the same time, the settings insist it's set up for one monitor (going off the card). A normal redraft did nothing, and I brought a second monitor in to work with the thing.

I then updated the drivers for the integrated graphics and restarted, and it's back to normal.

[After sitting there listening to a fairly large firm with a new building chastise me across a table to look good for their client and make me seem terrible to mine.]

"I'm sorry, did you somehow say something about me instigating litigation as frivolous? Frivolous.... Good word, very important having a good word, especially one nobody really uses all that often. That way you get to define what it means pretty much however you want, and in your case, pray people don't realize just how much it applies to you.... Frivolous? You don't happen to mean how you're showboating here and charging .... how much per hour again? $400... per hour? So that little 5 minute patting-yourself-on-the-back-while-failing-to-knock-me-down speech just cost what...? $33.33 for 5 minutes?

No no, you wanna know what the problem with this whole damn system and especially you and your place in it is? You only get paid if you warmonger on a lawsuit, because you know the longer this takes the more money you get at your immoral as hell rates to pay for this palace in which you do practically nothing but charge everything. Speaking of nothing, that brings me squarely to your defense or lack thereof. I suppose you're fresh out of those? I haven't heard a thing from you explaining any of this or even a settlement offer that's not an insult. You call this your nuisance settlement amount? I'm an enormous  nuisance, certainly we should get something for that?

Really, quit the games, you're terrible at them, and just actually talk about resolving this, or would you rather go on another $33.33. 5 minute speech. Wait a minute, did I just ask another lawyer if they'd like more money for wasting time? Sorry, the answer seems obvious...."

The fuck is wrong with people? Why does this stupid shit happen?
Well, you've got to have someone to look nice against, otherwise it just sounds like you're sounding awesome to make yourself sound awesome.

Checked my spam filter, as I do occaisonally to see if anything important got misfiled there. One of the items claims to be from a Canadian online pharmacy, with the subject line: For crying out loud, dude! Don’t wait until your penis falls off forever!

Back onto the topic of "OMGWTF it's a BBQ"?

Forecast revised for today. Projected high of 106F. Raleigh's all-time high in recorded history is 105F.
At least the projected humidity is low (20-30%). If it was like this with our normal summer humidity, the heat index would range somewhere around "poached".

EDIT: It's gone up 3 degrees in the last half-hour. Yeesh. 99F right now.

Totally. I'm only about an hour from the coast, but the difference in temperature is usually between that of, well, the coast and a frothing hellswamp. Sea brings a nice breeze and usually (somehow) less humidity. Inland florida is a swamp. The air doesn't really move, comparatively, and the only place the heat has to go is onto you, where it congeals and slowly sinks into the inner core of your very essence. This does you no favors. It's like over clocking without a good cooling system, only the part in question receives absolutely zero benefit from the increased energy and God you're doing it mostly out of spite.

... Nad probably knows all this, though :P

EDIT: Dang ninjas.

Yes, large bodies of water are your friend when it comes to ameliorating climate effects.

Oh, I know, I did live in Mississippi and Louisiana.

The delta is a hot damp tin box filled with razor vines and mosquito's.

The bayou is a hot tin box with greater than 100% humidity with gators and black widows.

Inland florida isn't much different.

If you don't like the heat, you can always just move up here to Minnesota.  The parts along Lake Superior rarely breach 95 Farenheit.
