Last time I looked out the window, about an hour or two ago, it was sunny. Then I looked out the window again. It was sunny, and the ground was covered in snow. At some point between those two times, a snowstorm blew through, dumped its load, and buggered off, leaving no trace of its passing save for the white covering everything. WTF, old man winter?

Ah right...you know that movie always seemed a little odd to me. Why were they turned into pigs? How did she figure out the rivers name agian? How could she tell the pigs apart? What were those mask things? Was any of this explained?

They were turned into pigs as a curse for their greed and lack of hospitality by eating food that wasn't theirs (and, in fact, belonged to spirits). Mask Guy was another spirit. I recall that she couldn't tell the pigs apart.

Essentially, every practical question comes down to "it's magic, I ain't gotta explain shit". Spirited Away is, as the title suggests, more about the otherworldly experience.

When she rode on the back of the dragon she could feel a familiar sensation of when she was a child and she almost drowned in the River but could feel something carrying her to safety.

He was that River.

she could somehow tell that none of the presented pigs were her parents, and why she was told not to look badk as she left.....

I really need to watch this movie agian, maybe now I will be able to analyze it and figure out what's happening.

I nearly got frostbite pumping kerosene today (I'm not exaggerating - my hands went from hand-colored to bright red to white in the few minutes it took to pump 5 gallons), and on the way home I saw this kid running around with no shirt on flexing at a group of other kids, like he was trying to show off how tough he was. In weather like this (6 degrees, wind chill of -12 (-14 with a wind chill of -22 for Celsius users), goddamn global warming), a stunt like that just might kill you.
