I have a reading assignment. For some reason, the pages are all sideways. What in god's name.

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

Apparently I was just ambushed by Jehova's witnesses, and apparently agreed to talk to their daughter at 4 o'clock about some video or something.
Dangit, why couldn't I have just said 'No thanks'?! Why?!

I am currently babysitting several of my cousins, one of which is 8 years old. He told me he was hungry. I told him that I had been authorized to create sandwiches. He immediately requested a cheese sandwich. I asked him if he was joking. He said no, and clarified that he wanted cheddar and American cheese. I asked him if he was talking about grilled cheese. He said no. I made him an uncooked sandwich with just cheese and wheat bread. He happily accepted.

Don't know what your problem is, cheese sandwiches are great. I ate them every day for like four years when I was in elementary school.

Necessitates grated white cheddar.

Unless it's a roll, in which case grated yellow cheddar.

Just slice some cheese and jam it between two bits of bread. Nothing complex about it.
Butter it first if you want, or add a bit of salt. I generally lightly toast the bread in mine before using it, but that too is entirely optional.

Cheese sandwiches are pretty great! Much nicer than grilled cheese, eugh.

No, don't toast the bread, if you're gonna do that then you might as well have toast!

Which requires sliced white cheddar. Unless the cheese is melted, which requires yellow cheddar.

Cheese sandwiches remind me that, when my brother and I were looking after our cousin's kids, I think we basically just fed the toddler chicken nuggets "chicken nuggies"

And maybe some pizza?  I think one of the pizzas had vegetables...
Oh yeah I'm totally parent material.  fuck was I thinking?

In my defense there are 4 of them, and they seemed to take turns sleeping.  Fortunately so did my brother and I.

Cheese and jam do not sound very nice together, I must admit.

Cheese and ketchup are a surprisingly good combination, though not in sandwich form.

Ham and peanut butter though!
I know it sounds gross, but it surprisingly isn't!

It can work pretty well, in my experience. With certain jams, at least.
Kinda like a chutney or relish, basically. Both of which go very well with cheese, for those who don't know.

Cottage cheese, sure. Hard cheese? Maaaybe not.

Goat/feta is on the cusp between those and I'd need to try it to say either way.
