Sounds like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel :) no surprises there. That's the plot of DOS Doom-ripoff game "Redneck Rampage" BTW. Reminds me of a low budget italian king-fu sci-fi / western flick I saw once. Cannot for the life of me find the name of that movie, I swear I saw it late one night on TV once, or maybe video. Sucked anyway.

I think I've actually seen what you're talking about. 70's and 80's Italian sci-fi is LOLtastically bad. Almost on the level of Turkish Star Wars.

There's an Italian star wars fan film "Dark Ressurection" which is not bad at all. Better than most "for profit" italian sci-fi :) or that Turkish thing.

Sure, some people trash this for not being a "professional" movie, but hey it's pretty good for a fan effort, good atmosphere.

EDIT: They had a budget of 7000 Euro's and most reviewers on IMDB said this was better than "Revenge of the Sith".

To be fair, the only way you could make a Star Wars movie worse than that would first require you to be George Lucas.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Quadruple counter point: Have them all work together. On a budget that seems to have been made by Scrooge McDuck.

I see your hack directors and raise you one Tommy Wiseau.

Hey now....I enjoyed Last Crusade. It was the 4th episode that was the problem there.

I'm looking forward to Cowboys and Aliens for some mindless popcorn-chomping entertainment, personally.
