Yeah, VNs make me go "WTF." They're basically choose-your-own-adventures with people taking off their clothes and doing... things.

That's not to say I didn't finish the one I bought. All three main paths. I just think it could be a bit more tempered in its' acitons. That being said, all humans could learn to be a bit more thoughtful in their actions. It's what ensures our survival, after all.

I do have pretty brittle nails, which probably explains a lot of it. Any longer than that^ and they start breaking and tearing in painful and exotic ways. Just the sensation of having nails that long and touching things is kinda uncomfortable, though. They get sharp.

Maybe there's some kind of repressed trauma at work here. I still have a visible scar on my cheek from scratching myself as a newborn, so clearly it, uh, scarred me for life.

I pretend I have long nails (only on my right hand) to play guitar with, but they're mostly for opening soda cans. It's fucking impossible if you don't have at least a little bit of nail.

I keep 'em croped as closely as possible. I find it uncomfortable when they grow even a tiny bit.

Usually when I scratch somebody on accident or tear apart some wood or paper with them is when I cut them to the tips

I'm good between perhaps 1 and 2.5 mm. Any shorter feels wrong, and it tends to be difficult to cut them that short. Any longer and they start chipping/stabbing people.

In the past 48 hours, I've: suffered multiple shoulder strains from doing things it's other people's jobs to do, tripped over a box that was left in a spot it should not have, caught a cold(got over it in less than 2 hours), nearly crushed by a bale weighing about ~1000lbs, came very close to murdering my coworkers in a psychotic rage.

Games (well, Steam) related WTF.

I might have gotten that one in my Discovery Queue at one point. Actually, I seem to be getting a lot of adult games in my Discover Queue and Recommended For You lists. Geez, just because I bought HuniePop months ago doesn't mean I'm interested in every single ahumanly large breast-fest that comes up on Steam. Plus, I didn't buy HuniePop for the sex stuff, the tile-matching game is actually pretty enjoyable. _{^{I also find most of the girls unlikable, and the player character is a total asshole. I actually felt bad for Audrey because of what the player puts her through.}}

If those ninnies managed to cause all that in two days, almost getting tantrum'd by the co-worker they've neglected is well deserved. I hate stuff like that, leaving boxes around and not putting things were they go and skimping on OHS. I mean, people had to work pretty hard for even the idea of keeping the workplace not a rickety death trap to take root, and not bothering with your bit is just thoughtless.

Don't really know if it's adult or not, truth be told. I just noticed it and one part of my mind went "Anthros? Yes, plox", another went "How did you know I might be interested, Steam? Tell me your secrets!" and a third part went "What's a visual novel?". Don't really mind whichever it is, as long as it's good. Although your description does make me doubt it, ay-ay-ay... I mean, there seem to be this idea that just because it's adult oriented, it's safe to throw all quality overboard. That always irks me. If anything, that is when you really need to put your back into it to make sure it doesn't get embarrasing. If I do end up trying out a visual novel on sale or something, I think I'll LPing it, like a David Attenborough expedition.

Now it's trying its luck with Farming Simulator m/17. Why? Basing it on what? The embarrasing amount of work I put into my estate in Skyrim? Driving a tractor in Men of War? No, Battlerite, I still haven't recovered from playing arenas in WoW. Fable? Hm. Haven't seen you for a long time. That suits me very well indeed. Get out of my sight.

Nah, the major/minor thing isn't a full on adult VN. I checked, heh. Intended for older teens/younger adults (so much of the character art is fairly suggestive), but nothing more than that.

Though yeah, there's a very comfortable assumption to be made that a porn VN is likely to be lower quality than other sorts. There's more than a couple that are well done anyway, but quite a lot of them are just kinda' churned out. The story's an excuse rather than a feature, basically, and it is actually fairly okay to otherwise toss out quality, from a sales standpoint. The primary markets are fairly blasé about quality so long as their quarries safely manage to export, and the developers/publishers are well aware of that.

In any case, if you're interested in the stuff there's been a few threads pop up on GD and OG, as well as occasionally coming up in the anime thread. Can find some pretty good recommendations in 'em.

Ah, thought it'd be something like that. Then again, not doing your coat up properly is pretty much the standard in box art. I can reveal that Steam has suggested a few more (one called Negligée, which is probably a good, summarizing title. Talk about starting as you mean to go on), so I suppose they're just a feature now. D'oh, well.
It's always a shame when quality goes in the back seat, even if it's sort of understandable why, in this case. Still, almost makes me want to become a high quality racy visual novel tycoon. Put a top-shelf option on the market, made with care. If nothing else because I think a VN is about the only type of game I could ever hope to make.

I found myself wondering. Wow this guy is clicking like really fast. Then I remembered that apparently thats a good thing to do, APM and all that...
Now wondering if there is an RAPM. Or REDUNDANT actions per minute. I MEAN COME ON! Why do you need to click 100000 times to tell something to go at one location, why do you need to flash between the damn menus like you have an ADD syndrome suffering goldfish. Yes it makes sense late game that you need to do so as you flick through your multiple buildings to construct units.
BUT YOU HAVE 1 DAMN BASE AND JUST YOUR WORKERS! NOTHING NEW HAS HAPPED THAT NEEDS THE SWITCH CHECK!!!

The explanation given during an interview was that it is done to keep the fingers quick during the match.
