How the hell does someone even manage to steal that much maple syrup? Also, we're still in the Cold War era. so that's not an option either.

I'm half-tempted to just write "Cold War" and leave it be. Might need to be more specific though, which could include the Avro Arrow and its link to NASA, refusal to aid in Vietnam, our participation in the Korean War, or the Cuban Missile Crisis.

I've already got the BNA, WW1 and WW2, The Treaty of Versailles/League of Nations, the Statute of Westminster, free healthcare, NATO, Quebec's quest for independence and Centennial/Expo '67, and the Constitution Act.

Our Defense Minister actually ignored the Diefenbaker government's orders to stand down. The government wanted UN inspectors to visit Cuba to see if anything was actually going on there.

Well, it is just criticism that's helpful. Which is most criticism. 'This [work] sucks' is unconstructive, but pretty much anything more specific is constructive. 'This is decent, but the [thing] isn't that great' is constructive.

Also dang it TV show... reminding me how unfair it is to be a child.

This child being rushed out of his barber seat, he basically doesn't even get enough time to check out his hair she is like "OUT! don't make me repeat myself" (which I'll assume isn't a threat of beating her child...)

Now you would think that they must be in some rush... but NOPE! she gets to flirt with some guy for a few minutes.

Kid is in seat for 10 seconds?: Punished
Mom flirts with some guy?: A-OK

On a side note (GOODNESS I should put this in my own thread, but I have a "I can only make three posts until I have to wait for a response)...

I am reminded of Mother (or Earthbound) and how the English version is censored in a VERY specific way.

Now I am alright with censoring some things if they are hard to deal with or where it pushes the rating faaar outside its target audience.

Yet in Earthbound they censored the fact that Pigsy's (I will just call him that) father is abusive and beats him.

Which is harsh but it is what amounts to why he is the game's villain (sort of) and in fact goes as far as to his role in the game's sequel. So long as you can separate the game's Metastory from its story you completely understand it.

Honestly he is probably one of the more tragic characters in videogames when I think about it... In fact so much so that I'd explain more... but then I'd have to get into spoilers.

Porky (I remember his name now) is abused by his father which he somewhat takes out on Ness but in truth Porky considers you his best friend, in fact in the Metaplot he is likely playing with you guys.

However at the end of the game... It is revealed that his parents got a divorce... and Porky ends up with his abusive father and moves away. Essentially Ness and Porky never meet again.

In the "Imagination plot" though Porky built himself a machine that would protect him from everything. He ends up child-like even in his old age.

So essentially Porky lost everyone he cared about, lost his mother, and ended up living with his abusive dad... so much so that he had to tune everything out and become an infantile old man...

And it all ends with him back in the machine...

HECK he was defeated in the first game... because of memories of real love.

All for a villain who wasn't all that villainous...

I don't get dark mirror. I mean outside having the exact opposite in terms of parent situation (KIND OF)... They don't really follow that sort of dichotomy.

He kind of wants to be Ness... to be friends with Ness... but he cannot express it.
