My words are a bit unneeded since I haven't commented, but from my insight--it seems sometimes your posts focus on particular words in a literal manner and then build a response more focused on those, that sometimes may be a bit out of the bigger picture.

In the least that's how I describe myself at times So...it's more personal bias on my part in seeing partial similarity.

Ironically enough I was planning on buying a new phone tomorrow, and if I'd bought that phone today I might not have been squinting at the cracked screen which could've averted the problem to begin with, albeit with the bigger, overarching "don't use a phone whilst driving" reason.

So, $350 for the incoming tow, had to call in as unavailable to work (it's currently midnight, when I'd normally start), and I, the last person in my household to have a functioning car, have now severed the lifeline we had between cheap rent suburbia and necessities from cbd.

Life is good.

But yes, forced levity aside I have learned an important lesson on unsafe driving practices.
Well, sort of. It's a habit I've had for almost ten years and this is the only time I've run off the road because of it.
Still not sure whether I'll end up blaming it on a combination of that stupid habit, combined with the attention-grabbing topic and the blurry cracked screen on my outdated phone, meaning that the other two thirds of the cause can be solved without having to actually drive like a mature and non-homicidal person.

I mean, hey, people are going to yell at me for saying that, so I mean... Yeah! Never doing something stupid like that again! Thanks for drumming this important lesson into me.

No, the finish is 100% legit. What's wrong is a set of minor quirks in the magnetic roads' physics which allow to get some massive speed boosts out of nowhere on a few select spots. In the replay I linked, Riolu got a whopping 140 kph boost from "flying" above the track around the 0:22 mark, which would have continued through the entire track if it wasn't for the small engine-cut section.
What makes this particularly bad is that magnetic roads are what makes the new Lagoon environment unique, so they are used in nearly all of its tracks. So, we've got about a quarter of the game that's entirely based on luck
