Ohh yeah!  I didn't remember earlier, but that's right.  If I didn't push the violin's peg "in" hard to lock it, it would often slip back a half or even whole turn.  As soon as I took my hand off it.

I try never to mess with the coarse tuning on my violin, myself.  It always ends up drifting further down than I want.  Fine tuners don't have that problem, though.

But guitars aren't built like violins, so...Huh, actually, I'm not sure.

After hearing one too many dubious statistics on TV and radio, I've come up with a little game: whenever you hear a percentage, calculate the smallest sample size required to get that figure from a study.

For example, "83% of doctors recommend our product!" becomes "5 doctors recommend our product!"

Suddenly, it all makes sense.
