I was screwing around in opentyrian and I was gonna try playing while limiting myself to the worst shield and ship in the game, then I find out that for some reason any shield worse than the default one isn't selectable with the mouse interface. You need to use the cursor keys to pick them. Seems to be the case for the weaker generators too.

I can't help but wonder if this is a bug, or an intended feature so you don't get silly ideas like horribly crippling yourself.
