I had been calling work for half an hour trying to determine if I was scheduled for work or not. Nobody was answering. Since I was originally told yes(before going on vacation), I had been preparing to go to work anyway. I'm literally seconds from walking out the door when I try again - first, a busy(possibly no signal) tone, second my phone tells me I can only make emergency calls, and third time I finally get through and am told I'm NOT going into work today.

The only interest in the new ghosbusters only comes out of the controversy around it really. As much as the director and the actors can complain, the controversy is the entire reasons it wasn't an even bigger flop then it already is.

As a movie, its forgettable and feels like a low budget sci fi action thing with... Fart jokes? Seriously, a lot of the humor consists entirely of fart joke tier stuff. I guess thats what you get when you just put 4 comedians together with no acting experience or chemistry. The effects are ok though, I guess, even though literally nothing happens (spoiler alert: they don't even catch a single ghost :u).

Even the tumblr-ish crowd who saw this movie as yet another thing tailor made to pander to them has reasons to be disappointed, given how shock full of stereotypes the whole thing is :v

Someone seemed to miss the empowerment memo that Tumblr wanted and instead went to make a terrible movie filled with pathetic excuse for human beings. Nobody wins. Tyranids win.

Not sure why I expected any different, made my nation super religious in an online browser game, but all the religion topics are based on christianity.  That is off-putting, cause I'd rather customize it to be the Pony version of the Imperial Cult.

EDIT: NationStates, the issues/policies you can enact are pretty entertaining, so I'm practically playing it as a 1 player game till I get bored.

Meanwhile we have that Wonder Woman film coming, what looks to be a good movie with a strong female lead who isn't a standard-bearer for any of that shit. Guarantee you that the tumblr crowd finds a way to hate it. Probably because Gal Gadot is fit and her character kicks ass instead of standing on a soapbox delivering tedious monologues about... things.

Nah, the tumblr crowd are hating on it because the main actress was in the israeli army, and the non jewish part of tumblr hates everything israel with a passion. Which is minorly justified given how insufferable tumblr zionists are.

Also because the movie doesn't really pander to internet feminism other than having an awesome woman hero beating the shit out of bad guys, apparently, which is ok with me :u
