Unless there's a significant time delay between greetings, I just say hi once. And yeah, don't mention anyone specifically when returning greetings.

So I have a bit of a question about IRC etiquette. When you enter a room and a couple people greet you, naturally you greet them back, right? But what do you do about people that say hello after you say hello? Do you say hello again? Do you just ignore them?

Say hello to everyone individually as soon as you enter. It solves every problem, and everyone will like you for acknowledging them.

The same thing happened to Acanthus and ein, about a month previously. Those three were some of my favorite posters here; odd to see them go so suddenly, but I assumed they told the people they knew well, because I didn't see anyone post about it previously.

Books, maybe. He's still very much activist in article writing. A recent piece on Intelligent Design that he wrote included the gem (slightly paraphrased) "God is a more complicated idea than evolution, therefore Occam's Razor proves that God cannot exist.  He's not quite the jackass Seth McFarlane is, but that's no compliment.

Have you got a source on that?  I can't find it on his website.
