Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

Dunno if browser or Youtube, but in every video I try to watch the audio resets after a minute or so. By that I mean that it cuts back to the beginning of the video even while the imagery itself continues to play normally.

Doing research for a university assignment. The theme is how captain america was used as propaganda during ww2. Then I stumble across this:

This might help, although you will want to double-check to make sure the comics discussed are actually real, as the blog author's been fooled in the past.

Well, the bullshit appointment/group session I had to attend this morning turned out to be much less annoying than I expected.
Also quite a bit weirder- rather than just having a person talking at the attendees like the previous sessions I attended, this time we were put to work making chocolate crackles, ostensibly to teach us about "time management".

Yeah that all sounds pretty retarded, but on the plus side I showed up late and basically just sat to one side of the room doing nothing for the entire session. It's not like making the treats was a job for more than a couple of people anyway, really, and there were several other people there who had that pretty much covered. No-one spoke to me apart from briefly asking me to fill in my details on the register, and later on a few words were exchanged whilst making some terrible Nescafé after the "work" was finished, mostly pertaining to the location of a rubbish bin in which I could dispose of empty sugar and coffee sachets.

Maybe these appointments aren't so bad if you make sure to show up nice and late once everything's already going.
I'll test this theory again tomorrow, see if I can get out of actually interacting with anyone for two days running.

Also, it makes me weirdly happy that there is a Wikipedia page for chocolate crackles.
I grew up with those things. They are both delicious and incredibly easy to make.

... A recipe that doesn't even involve baking.

Time management.

What.  How.

...*looks at Pope Francis*

Say what about not changing?

Aye what's changed? We have a socialist pope. I like the guy, but he's not going to change something with the inertia of the Catholic church.
But he kind of already HAS.  Laudato Si is a thing that happened.

I think yt is fucked. When I try using the app for Android, the audio keeps somehow lagging back while the video doesn't, resulting in me hearing things that happened in the past.

Abitur results came in. I somehow got an Eximia from Swedish. I know I should be happy and this sounds like humblebragging, but it makes no sense as I don't consider myself to be any good at Swedish. How the carp did I get the second-highest grade with my massive haul of 209 points out of 299?

Since it does not require baking it is often used as an activity for young children.

This shows the great respect that these employment services have for the unemployed. Get them to do tasks usually reserved for six year olds. What's next, making crepe paper hats with edible craft glue, to teach them Critical Thinking skills? (choosing the color of the hat)

I'd make a joke, but it's kinda true. I wouldn't be surprised if MSD over here got me doing stuff like that. If they weren't tragically underfunded, that is.

They didn't even allow us (or well, the people who actually participated) to heat up the copha ourselves. :P

If only reelya paid attention to the number of people that have better job skills in a number of areas when they were six than they do when they're twenty-six... not really disrespect when it is a decent way to help teach skills folks have forgotten they had or never picked up. Also totally don't underestimate six year olds. They are canny if likely short-sighted and somewhat stupid, probably haven't developed a sense of morality, and can smell your fear.

Cooking in general is one of those things that a lot of folks seem to have a terrible time at even doing really bloody simple stuff, so it can be a good place to start. And when you start, it's good to start with the basics, particularly if you have zero clue what the collective skill level of the group is.

Will say it's faintly amusing that you rolled in late to a workshop type thing that was about time management, though, yoink. You showed why it was needed before you even entered, but at least you got something out of it :V

Speaking of chilluns, though, I've learned today that I have a young relative that's convinced there's seaweed in rice candy "Because it's from japan." I... I tried. Didn't quite sink in in the few seconds there was to talk before other stuff came up. Maybe next time I show them where the ingredient list is :-\

I'm 17 and I don't know how to bake. Mostly because I'm a sheltered and spoiled kid, but still.

Also, there's also seaweed in glorious nippon steel.

That's why their swords are so shitty.
