Well, the bullshit appointment/group session I had to attend this morning turned out to be much less annoying than I expected.
Also quite a bit weirder- rather than just having a person talking at the attendees like the previous sessions I attended, this time we were put to work making
chocolate crackles, ostensibly to teach us about "time management".
Yeah that all sounds pretty retarded, but on the plus side I showed up late and basically just sat to one side of the room doing nothing for the entire session. It's not like making the treats was a job for more than a couple of people anyway, really, and there were several other people there who had that pretty much covered. No-one spoke to me apart from briefly asking me to fill in my details on the register, and later on a few words were exchanged whilst making some terrible Nescafé after the "work" was finished, mostly pertaining to the location of a rubbish bin in which I could dispose of empty sugar and coffee sachets.
Maybe these appointments aren't so bad if you make sure to show up nice and late once everything's already going.
I'll test this theory again tomorrow, see if I can get out of actually interacting with anyone for two days running.
Also, it makes me weirdly happy that there is a Wikipedia page for chocolate crackles.
I grew up with those things. They are both delicious and incredibly easy to make.
