It is a stupid argument, because if a trans woman did pervy things a public bathroom then she'd face charges just like a pervy man would. Plain and simple.

I haven't mentioned this before, but my family is going to hold a party for me I never asked for in a few days. Even though I've said I'm not interested, apparently it's tradition.

Today, I was shown the drink my mother chose for it (with no input from me, of course): fancy brand sparkling wine with gold chips floating in it. I called it kitschy, but she said it isn't, because it will be something to talk about among the guests. I'd still have chosen a less pretentious drink, seriously.

According to its product sheet I dug up from the winery's web domain (because of course it has one), the gold is "designed to highlight its natural effervescence," i.e. it's supposed to look cool floating around when the wine bubbles.

I also found that a 0,75L bottle of it costs 10€ at the liquor store. You'd think such a pretentious wine would be sold for an equally pretentious price, but no. My mother wants the party to look expensive, but not actually be so, apparently.
