I just noticed that the forum games and roleplaying board is the one with the most posts, almost one million. What the hell, I thought this forum was famous for dwarf fortress?

It actually has about 25000 posts less than the Dwarf Fortress boards put together. There are also lots of posts consisting of just a single short sentence there, as TBF said.

The hardy boys series is apparently 11-12 years away from being able to have a centennial celebration. Almost a hundred years of unbroken publishing. What the hell. People talk about milking game franchises with sequels, but if they're going to match that shit devs're going to have to step up their game.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I think the book publishing industry had a small headstart over the video game industry.

Reimagining historical authors and playwrights as videogame publishers: go.

Apparently the same sort as what had been writing them; the things have been largely ghost-written since their inception.

Not "largely". Entirely. "Franklin W. Dixon" never existed, as it was common practice in that publishing syndicate to publish each series under a collective pseudonym tailored to attract the target audience and draw from their stable of pulpsmiths to produce each title, entirely uncredited. The first few Hardy Boys books and the first few Nancy Drew books were written by the same person, for example. One interesting thing about this is that the homoerotic undertones in some of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books were entirely intentional, as the author who wrote a lot of the titles hated having to do it and was trying to get them banned.

The other day I did laundry, only for it to fucking rain for two or three days straight, and then a windstorm fucking smashed the clothes rack apart and left my clothes lying in a heap in the yard (on bricks at least, not dirt). I gathered them up and resigned myself to re-washing them again before the weekend, but just now I went and got ready to put them in the machine, but when I gave them a whiff they didn't smell mildewy or bad at all.

Couldn't spot any visible dirt on them, either. In the end I decided to save water (those bills are nasty) and declare them clean.
Of course, the reason they smelled clean could be to do with my new housemate, who smells incredibly fucking bad.
Seriously, this guy leaves a horrible stench in his wake whenever he moves through the house. Half the time I leave my room and have to cover my mouth and nose to make it to the kitchen.

Dude's the worst-smelling person I can remember ever meeting, I have no idea how he manages to smell so bad.
Maybe it's a medical condition of some kind. Not that that would cause me to feel much in the way of sympathy, given that I have to put up with this smelly motherfucker...

There's a German pulp Sci-Fi novella series called Perry Rhodan which started in 1961. Fuck Star Trek, that's timid shit compared to this. These guys start out with typical sci-fi adventures then carve out a Terran Empire with massive warfleets of reverse-engineered alien craft (and I only read up to about book 50, see below).

It's relevant because they publish a new novella weekly and have done since 1961. Currently they're up to book #2832, plus there are additional spin-off series which total at least another 1300 volumes. Plus, they rebooted the original story as "Perry Rhodan Neo" in 2011, while the originals are still publishing. There are over 100 Perry Rhodan Neo books so far, so I guess they knocked that down to merely a new book every two weeks.
