I was going to say the English being horrible at martial arts thing wasn't true... the I realized all the great martials arts they practiced over the years were German and Italian in origin, and the otherwise decent one I know of is Irish.

Okay, so maybe the English are pretty terrible at that stuff.

While the guys over the channel are busy honing their hand to hand techniques, Englanders just fetch their longbows and fire off a couple of volleys.

And thus the empire was born.

The problem with the English is that Conservation of Ninjitsu applies to them. The more British are in a fight, the worse they do. (How many British victories can you think of when they weren't heavily outnumbered?)
