Critters made from stuff like mud or steam are about as structurally stable as would be expected from mud or steam. If it had been made of, say, rock salt or cobaltite, then you'd have a lot of Fun.

On a tangentially-related note, would FBs or Titans made of stuff like snow and ice melt in warm weather?

This is what I saw:

Dog has poison spit
Dog kills titan.
You think dogs are ancient beasts.
 :P

In all seriousness: crap like that happens, you dog just got a lucky hit.

"the spinning fluffy wambler strikes the colossus in the head, and the part flies off in an arc!"
The Bronze colossus has been struck down.

would FBs or Titans made of stuff like snow and ice melt in warm weather?
Not as far as I know.

That [Magma] is a bit deep down there, don't you think?
You really aren't thinking like a dwarf.

If you think it is down too far, you move it up until it reaches an acceptable elevation.

Haha, yeah I noticed that the title could have been better worded later on.

Last game I had a Titan go down to the very first crossbow bolt.    Big letdown after the adrenaline surge.

I had a mud-based deadly dust fb kill itsself in one shot for absolutely no reason before. Wasn't even anything near it, it just shot off the dust and exploded.

It was okay though because i only had 9 dwarves at the time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but while titans and forgotten beasts can fall apart if they're made of certain materials will clowns too?

Dust attacks have an identical effect to cave-in dust, meaning they'll throw any creature in various directions, including up, including the creature that had the dust attack, meaning that dust-spewing creatures can injure themselves if they can't fly.

Given this and that liquid/gas/powder monsters will fall apart after taking very little damage, this event sounds quite reasonable. Mud monster shoots off the dust, explodes upward a level or two, falls back down and explodes.

Could be, but since they're much more powerful it'll be harder to get a hit in before you die.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I believe it is simply "yes."  My marksdwarves cut salt-based ones in half with a single bolt, but then suffer as per usual against flesh-based ones.

there is an image of the goblin Utes Gozrusrozsnus and dwarves in elf bone. The goblin is making a plaintive gesture. the dwarves are striking a menacing pose.
this image relates to the slaying of Utes Gozrusroz

Not sure.

It wasn't even near any dwarves at all, it pretty much just committed suicide in my general direction.

Probably just sat in the corner for 1050 years, then decimated to move corners.
