Discworld is a long running series of books by Terry Pratchett. It is also awesome, and makes a satire of controversial topics such as religion. Though one universe, the entire series can be sorted down into smaller series, along with some standalone books. My favorite character in the series was Vetenari, but it has since been entirely replaced by Sir Samuel Vimes, Duke of Ankh-Morpork and overall badass. I know some people have read Terry Pratchett on this forum, but I was wondering how many.

I just spent money for a book, but on my next paycheck I may buy some Diskworld books.

Do you recommend any specific books to get started? I'd hate to start from the very beginning to understand every bit of the newer ones.

Move. Now. Go to the bookstore. Ask if they have Guards, Guards! or Small Gods.

Small Gods is a standalone. Barring that, the Guards, Guards! series is amazing one you get into it, and some of the later Rincewind novels are rather funny. I haven't read the witches series, yet. I should post the guide to reading it.

Yes!  These things are amazing.  I've read almost all of them.  I still have Hogfather and a maybe few others to go.

I got them from the library.  Seriously guys, use those things, they're amazing.

My local librarys sucks, and the closest one other than that we have like 5 overdue books from there, that have been overdue for like 4 years.

Every bookstore near me has, at most, 6 Discworld books, and my Library has, like, two. I have to go to the city to buy new books.

That's sad.  Mine is amazing.  No late fees, and a huge selection, not to mention that MN has a system where all the different county library systems loan books to one another, so I basically have access to every book in an MN library.

Sucks, though, I've read so many books that I wouldn't have been able to if not for that library.

Actually, my library is pretty good, too. It has tons of neat books, but it still lacks in Discworld. Your library is probably many times better, though.
