wha.. no.. buh.. -facepalm-

Give a man a fish, you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you'll feed him the rest of your life.

Tell ALL your dwarves (except the kids and the only trainedish cleaner) to go fish, and you'll be bombarded with the following:

Urist McEveryone Cancels Fish: Hunting Vermin for Food.

Catching fish seems to be higher priority than either taking raw fish to the food stockpile or processing raw fish into something edible.  If you set all your dwarves to fish, you'll end up with starving dwarves amid piles of inedible rotting raw fish.  Every fisherdwarf must be backed up by haulers and fish cleaners.

Athough your hauler can be a fish cleaner, so that means just 2 dwarves needed.

Also, low skilled fishermen don't generally catch anything. Highly skilled fisherman can empty the ocean of all fish forever, in just a a season or two.

What is this, a therapy session? We don't need to console someone because they're upset about a fucking video game. Grow a beard, son, and take off those elf ears!

I've twice now needed to request dimple cup seeds from the Dwarven Traders--- and both times, I've forgotten to do it at trade time because I was distracted in RL with other things when the caravan arrived. ARGH! Darned RL, getting in the way of my Dwarf Fortress!

Why are you requesting dimple cup spawn?  Dimple cups can be found in the caverns...

That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

Not when I haven't dug down to them. I'm only on year 6 or so, but I lost my starting dimple cups to the planting bug. Arg. I am getting enough green dye and red dye plants milled to keep my dyer working happily away, but I'd like to get my dimple cup crop running properly. Just aggravated with myself over it. I could just as easy build a greenhouse on top of my entrance stair stack and grow outdoor "dye" plants there, but my dwarves deserve dimple blue dye they've grown in their own fort, darn it!

I why not mod unicorns to be tamable and breed them? Then you can live off of sunshine and unicorns!

Edit: or hunt them if you are in a good bio, though that is slightly dangerous.

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.
