Woodcutters don't know where wood is...
« on: November 04, 2007, 06:40:00 am »

I have a problem... I played for about 6 hours, and now my woodcutter don't want to cut wood anymore.
I think the reason is that I chose the most f**cked-up map with mountains and different heights everywhere. So, my woodcutter successfully cut woods for the first 6 hours, and after that, he (or anyone who wants to cut wood) remains idle.

You said the z-levels are all over the place? Is it *possible* for them to reach the other trees? The obvious explanation would be that if they physically can't reach the trees, they won't bother trying... a second idea that would reasonably explain that would be if you got all your woodcutters to drop their axes at some point and then allocated them to the military, so that your woodcutters can't find tools for their job. Other than those two, I can't think of anything off hand that would explain that.
