I totally understand the point that guy making, and I agree with him for the most part.  But I'm not trying to make dwarf fortress some sort of "commercial vehicle".  I merely want to wear a DF shirt because I like DF and I want to wear clothes I like, and honestly I think it would help to get the word out about DF.

2 words: Iron on.

You can make yours easy with the right materials. Just print some iron-on decals, and, well, iron them onto what you want it to be on. Not that hard. It'll cost you a blank T-shirt and a bit of ink though.

This is a cotton shirt. all craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It menaces with spikes of cotton. It is decorated with logos in cotton. It is decorated with a description in cotton
On the item is an image of a dwarf in cotton. The dwarf is idling.
On the item is an image of a mountain in cotton.
On the item is an image of a human in cotton. The human is wearing a cotton shirt. This image relates to the wearing of a cotton shirt by a human.

An artifact shirt would be awesome!  I'd buy one.

That said, before anyone sells any DF merchandise they need Toady's permission.  I've seen some independent game developers grant permission so long as there was the company URL displayed on the shirt.  Basically trading whatever profit t-shirt seller makes (which probably isn't much per shirt) for the advertising.

We should organize a charity T-shirt selling thing! Like every shirt sold is such and such dollars donated to toady or something.

Alternatively, Toady could just, you know, get royalties.  Like he is entitled to.

That's... sort of how royalties work. They're not something guaranteed to you by copyright law, they're something agreed upon by both parties.

Shouldn't this just say "Oh Carp!" ? (or perhaps "!!Oh Carp!!" ;))

Itnetlolor, thank you for posting the link to that.  Fractals are amazing structures, especially when displayed that way. ;)

Whilst I'd probably buy DF merch, I'd only buy official one with a Toady One Seal of Approval.

Just a reminder, I have emailed Toady for permission, and I do not intend on selling them for profit.  See my earlier posts (page 1).

Without going overboard, I think Toady having a few shirts for sale from the Bay12 site would be a good idea. These images are iconic enough of Dwarf Fortress to go on t-shirts:

And I would buy that ☼T-shirt☼ any time. I mean, some people might rather get a t-shirt in exchange for their donation than a crayon drawing from the Adams' (though I'd like one of those too...)

I would like something similar to this.

Forget the wraparound concept. A Black T-Shirt showing a fort Entrance or maybe Jewel Room of a fort in the original Ascii across the chest.
Put an apt and cryptic logo on the back.
 spoiler
   HFS !

or the classic, 'Losing is fun !'  I'm sure someone can come up with a better logo.
