Jay managed to convince PTTG not to run Planehacked for some reason. We've been poking at PTTG about it but he seems to have disappeared.
I...  whoa.
I didn't quite expect him to take that seriously.
It's still buggy, to be sure, but even though I said that, I really didn't mean for him to actually...
Wow.

EDIT: I have no idea what you guys did.  The server hit a stack overflow somehow.
Regardless.
ENOUGH OF THE CUBOID ABUSE.  YOU ARE FREEZING THE SERVER.

Well it happened between Midnight (when I logged off) and around 7 this morning, we just need to see who was online at the time.

The server was acting wierd yesterday as well. Speaking of the quarry, it's VERY strange that the quarry and the crane reverted to a state from weeks to months ago when the tunnel I had dug was still there, just set back by several hours.

Edit: Would changing the gametime (daylight/nighttime) do anything? People were doing it ALOT yesterday.

Carts work?
No chunk updates (so you can't exit the area you started in) while in them, but otherwise, yes.

Whoa, what?  I thought somebody just broke that face of the crane.  It has been like -that- for several days now.
The actual whole thing reverted?
Damnit.  Why does everybody complain about these things so long after it happens, when it's too late to actually do anything about it?

It might make it unstable, but most certainly not capable of causing a revert to any time before the latest worldsave.

Jay, when does the map on the Jaybud site update? I'm curious to see what the area of my house looks like from what would be space.

As for the quarry, You'll have to see for yourself. I didn't stick around long enough to really check, but the quarry was definetly filled in AND most of the magma room was un-dug out. I know part of the chain had gone invisible yesterday, but it used to tower over the quarry, and it wasn't this morning.

As for the chain: That is a bug with fence rendering, nothing we can fix.
Otherwise: If you had said something when it actually happened, sure.
At this point, there's too much progress elsewhere to make a global revert to when the quarry was normal a feasible option.
Same thing happened when Hlbeta's tower exploded.

Besides the cactus incident...

Jay, is there no way to restore just those chunks from backup? Iscyrus's quarry and Empty's temple are just gone.. that's like week-hours of work from lots of people...

Sorry, guys, but this is some madness happening here...
I honestly don't have the slightest clue as to how this could have possibly happened.
The backups are all deleted, presumably due to the fact that the hard drive is full. ???
Presumably, the chunks are dying during saving because of said problem as well.
I'll look for the culprit (we lost 15 GB of space overnight, apparently ???) and see if I can't solve the problem at hand to save the remaining work, but at this point, the data that is missing is gone.
Sorry, again.
Goddamned VPS.

I'm actually just curious to see what you end up figuring out. I feel really bad for the quarry and temple and the people that worked on them, but I'm only a little attached to my own stuff (and that's mostly worn off by now :P)

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.
