Actually, that's not true at all.
Bandwidth 'theft' is not illegal under the terms of any US law.
Furthermore, US law and the DMCA clearly state that ANY material which is posted by the creator to a public median not under their own domain, including but not limited to Public Forums, Mass Distribution Projects, Charities, Public Galleries, Graffiti and Road Art, Mass Distributed Mailers, (etc. etc. for some time) or any other publicly viewable area which is not membership or pay restricted, forfeits their rights to control of distribution of the material in it's original state, so long as it is not sold or redistributed for the intent of profit or taking credit of.
Meaning, if you post it to the public, the public can repost it.
Exceptions include only pay sites, private newsgroups, and private galleries.
SA is considered a public forum.
