Digging designation canceled: Damp stone located.
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:46:35 am »

We all know the message.  This is lovely.

I guess I'm NOT putting my noble's bedrooms there.

But...   wait...  this isn't normal, because, well...

There's no aquifer on this map and it's 20 Z-levels below the surface.   What?  It's above the first layer of caverns too.

In other news, I just found black diamonds.

Underground stream?

Maybe.

Probably.

What I have excavated looks like this.   With this shape, it could be a stream, but I've never seen one before except in D40 and didn't even know they were possible in D2010.  If it is a stream, that's a really funny shape for it.

Code: [Select]
X = normal wall
_ = floor
D = damp
? = undug

Well then.
Give a milker a pick, wall him in, and get to it.

Well, it seems you should probably go up and down a few z levels to find where it tops off, so you could channel in and send a migrant sacrifice explorer to find out what it is

There might be an aquifer from an adjacent world tile that wasn't displayed at embark.  That happened to me.  It's actually kind of great, in my case, as I'm on a glacier.

Well, I did just get a new wave of migrants.  But I only have steel picks, and I'm not sure if it's worth the steel, heh.

I'll get at it from above.

Except this is almost exactly in the center of the map.

Edit:

This has gone into a new level of what the hell.

It seems I screwed something up in the raws, because it's a certain rare metal vein.  Apparently it has an aquifer tag.  That's intresting.  Maybe Fun is flooding...  which would explain why I've only been getting 60 fps this whole time.

As funny as it sounds, this map has no copper ore that I've found yet.  I'm sure it has some, I just haven't hit it yet.

Iron?

Well, yes, I have lots of that and coal.  And a volcano.  So really, steel is cheap.  I've already found the top of it though.

So your saying you got the cotton candy wet, and now the whole circus is being flooded? Interesting indeed...

I'm saying it's probably flooding.  I can't see it yet, as I can't dig into the cotton candy to find the stick considering it's full of aquiferness.

So how do I dig wet candy?
