Treelance- the architectural nightmare
« on: October 17, 2010, 01:16:19 am »

so iv been looking at all the variants of community and succession games and i thought of a new variant that i wanted to try. an architectural fort each player would say they wanted a turn once enough players have been chosen i would set up an embark and create piles of materials one for each player. the objective would be to create an above ground fort with each player creating one "wing" or "level" of it bonus points for insane complexity and deadly traps. once it reached a set insanity level or everyone dies i would upload the save for anyone to explore in adventure mode. players would be able to request materials and areas however it would all be above ground. if your interested please say so and ill try setting it up.

so far we have: Grimlocke and lolghurt

Im all for crazy complex architecture, and resticting each player to their own area and pool of materials could result in a glorious mess. Id be interested in joining.

It's probably made from baby bone, with a handle of baby leather. Probably uses the leg bones wound together for the handle, the pelvis for the handle/pick joint, and the pick is the spine.

But that's all in theory, of course. Not like I've made a pick out of my own 5 month old baby before.

good so we have 2 people so far. as to the area restriction thats up to the players if you wanted the first 2 layers of the upper left quadrant you could request that no one builds there. the higher the complexity and insanity the better. the end goal is to have a masive cancerous lovecraftian horror looming over the countryside terifying all who come near.  8)

so i set up an area its a flat temperate forest with a brook with 50 z-levels above ground. the materials list is as follows:

stone:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

wood:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

gems:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

if you want any other materials ill see if i can find them

I want a segment of this...flying buttresses anyone? ;D

Also, is that stone dug out, or is that a list of what is available if we dig...If the former, I want the bitchblend.  Yes I mean all of it.  If the latter, give me 500 Cobaltite instead.

I will also require:
100 Olivine
80 gold (bars or native gold blocks work equally well here)
8 platinum bars
80 cinnabar
and 200 claystone

I gave myself generous numbers to make sure I have enough for what I intend to build...hopefully I don't change my mind and suddenly need 3000 more claystone or something...

Kimberlite! I must have it. Along with some 1000 of claystone, diorite or slate. Slate preferred. Also some white material, doesnt realy matter which. I could just use soap, but depending on the time limit I might not have time.

Edit: are we allowed to dig away above ground terrain?

ill upload the save in a sec. the map is totaly flat so all construction is above ground once you have used all your materials your turn is done. try to limit how much you request so as to keep turnover speedy. the list is of whats  alredy dug out.

Edit: im preping the orders now ill group them in stock piles with walls around them so far xenos is on the left grimlocke yours is on the right

I really hope I don't need more stone than that ;) Also, I am assuming that scaffolding stone does not need to be taken into account, am I correct in this assumption?

It will work fine if not better. However if someone uses a newer version everyone must use that version or newer.
