We have two computers in my house, and so I've been searching for LAN games, preferably FPSes with low requirements that are freeware.

I've already gone through several:

Clonk, BGII, Freeciv, Civ 3, Civ 4, CS 1.6, Starcraft.

And I want to find more. So does anyone know any other good ones?

I've had some good mileage out of Age of Mythology.

Plus Dooooooooooooooooooom, yessss. Or Duke Nukem 3D or Blood. I will never stop recommending these games to people.

Nox was great fun on LAN at the time. I wonder how well (if at all) it would work on modern operating systems.

There were two main problems:
1. No random maps.
2. EA killed all support for it, including the online multiplayer servers (which were admittedly crap), after gaining full control of Nox from Westwood after the 1.2 patch. They also killed off the prospective sequel, IIRC. And of course to top it off, they killed Westwood, and then zombified it some time later.

OTTD is great at long LANs, put the server up on day one and by the end you'll have a crazy mesh of railway tracks varying from steam up to mag-lev.
